Leo club of University of Colombo is one of the dynamic and outstanding clubs performing in the Leo District 306 with a massive potential membership base.

Espero 1.0 a Leo image building programme, which was mainly focusing on giving an idea about the Leo club to the first year students who are interested in joining the club. This event was held on 26^th of October 2017 at the hall no 06 of faculty of management and finance of University of Colombo. District President Leo Pasindu Bhanuka Premerathne was invited as the Chief Guest to the event, and Regional Director Leo Samithe Perera and Leo Harishan Asoken as guests to the event.

Since this is a leo image building programme to attract potential memberswe we took steps tocommunicate the event details among first years and the colleagues in other faculties who are interested in joining the club. We use many promotional campaigns such as;

·         Facebook and Instagram flyers

·         Whatsapp group messages

·         Meetings with first year colleagues 

The event was executed successfully with a massive participation around 160 attendees.

Espero 1.0 could be named as one of the most important events organized to motivate new members to join the club and to create a powerful positive image about the Leo Club of University of Colombo, “Espero 1.0”was commenced at .30 p.m. after the registration of participants at the Faculty of Management and Finance of University of Colomobo. Afterwards all paid their salutation for the national anthem and recited the pledge and the pledge of allegiance together. 

Thereafter a brief video was displayed introducing the personnel of new regime for the leostic year 2017/18.Afterwards, Director for leadership and development Leo Harshi Kulasiri addressed the gathering about club leadership development including her journey at Leo club.

Subsequently, director for information and technology Leo Neranga Bamunuarchchi addressed the event about amalgamating club activities with information technology.

Then the event was entertained by LeoTikirimaleeAmandakoon and Leo HeshaniSaubhagyaby conducting ice breaking game session.

Afterwards, Leo Director for fund raising activities Dushmantha Abeywickrama was addressed the gathering about fund raising and the handling of expenses of the club and thereafter a speech about membership performance and evaluations of club members was conducted by Director of ,ember performance and evaluation Leo Shashika Gamage.

Then the event was addressed by District President Leo BhanukaPremarathne.

Next a summarized video clip played in the audience expressing all the projects hosted by our club in year 2016/17.Subsequently, our club President, Leo Tharindu Jayasinghe addressed the event about his journey in Leo club and the achievements of our Leo club as a whole.

We organized this event with the guidance of the club president and with the help of club members. Leo Club of University of Colombo is expected to grow with power and potential to uplift the human society with helping hands and compassionate hearts of young Leos.We think that we were able to acknowledge what we stand for a mass audience via participants, sponsorship parties, corporates and fellow university students. It was a joyful experience to the participants and the Leos where they enjoyed it to the fullest.
